My name is Michael Joseph. I live in the United States of America, with roots in Central and Eastern Europe. I am glad you found my website.I have been interested in genealogy since I was a teenager (I am now 55 years old). At first, my research centered on me - finding my ancestors and cousins. After my marriage, I expanded my research to my wife's family, so our children would know both sides of their family. Now, as my children have begun to marry, I am expanding my research further, for the benefit of their future children. My goal is twofold - to trace ancestors (from my children and their spouses up) and trace cousins (from ancestors down). I do not include ancestors of people who married into the family who are not direct ancestors of my children or their spouses, or descendants of any of those persons.
I have been collecting names, relationships, photographs and documents for many years, and established JosephGen in 2006, but I have been remiss in noting where I obtained information. Therefore, I am in the process of reviewing and updating every element of data on this website and sourcing everything. This will take some time.
